Avintia builds a dream for a cooperative of retired friends

The TVE programme, Comando Actualidad on the 17th November, reported on the project which Avintia is building in Torremocha del Jarama (Madrid) for Trabensol, a cooperative group of retired friends who share the dream of spending the rest of their lives together in an apartment complex. This project, financed by the Banca Cívica, is unusual in that it is a bioclimatic construction which can be sustainable and respectful of nature, at the same time as being comfortable. This complex is designed to harmonise communal and independent living. The construction has specially treated thermal and acoustic insulation material. For power, geothermal energy has been chosen. This type of energy was chosen for the project because it is clean, renewable, and economical in its monthly bills (a 75% saving) and substitutes solar or wind power, having the advantage over these of not being dependant on either sun or wind. This type of energy also has a significant subsidy. Lastly, geothermal energy provides a constant temperature, used for heating in the winter, for air-conditioning in the summer and to provide domestic hot water.
